UNIT-01 (Lecture-04) As per S.B.T.E. Syllabus, Bihar

Dear Reader, this exclusive notes are prepared based on the State Board of Technical Education syllabus for polytechnic students. In this notes I clearly explained about the concept of Operating System and different views of Operating System with pictorial representation. This lecture covered more about the types of Software and their applications. Actually there are two types of software discussed in this lecture.

• System Software: Those software which comes with system or its a inbuilt software. Eg. Windows Family
• Application Software: Those software which are installed in the computer as per their needs. Eg. MS Office

This lecture also clearly explained about the overview & features of Operating System in point-wise.
